Patagonia spiritual tour
Explore Wild Landscapes and Connect With Your Inner Soulscape
March 8th – 23rd, 2026: DRAFT ITINERARY
“Go! Amy’s trips are well organized and a great way to explore and learn not just about another country and all it has to offer but also a way to explore and learn about yourself and the power of compassion. The trip used a small tour outfit—no big cruise ship, no big tour bus—that provided excellent transportation and a knowledgeable, life-loving guide who had a set itinerary but added spontaneity and took us to interesting and unusual places that larger groups would not get to explore.” Cathy C
“If seeing ancient sites, spending time in the outdoors, touring with a small group, visiting out-of-the-way places, practicing meditation and qigong, and having discussions around compassion interests you, then this trip is for you! You don’t just visit and learn about each site; you connect to it intuitively and emotionally, making each site visit more intriguing. Some outings included moving meditation to bring awareness to self and connections to surroundings and the earth. The hikes on the trip provided an opportunity to explore Scotland’s natural beauty while connecting to self and enjoying the group. This trip did not disappoint, and I highly recommend visiting Scotland on Amy’s spiritual tour!” Lisa A
“This spiritual tour provided a wonderful opportunity to explore personal awareness for the beginner or intermediate student. Amy provides practical meditation instruction and brings participants on a reflective journey using a variety of facilitation formats, all while exploring amazing locations. The emphasis on the inward and outward radiance of compassion is life-changing. I highly recommend traveling with Amy!” Corey S

We’ll then continue toward TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK, one of the most remote places in the world. After entering the park we’ll have an afternoon hike of 3.4 miles to the GRAY LAKE VIEWPOINT. After a full day, we’ll settle into our hotel for the evening, where we’ll spend two nights. Dinner will be on-site.

Then we’ll ride horses to La Angostura, where Lake Argentino and Lake Roca meet, and enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional Patagonian roast lamb. Day 9 ~ March 16 (B/D): Rise early for meditation and breakfast. Today we say goodbye to the estancia and spend about two hours driving to reach the PERITO MORENO GLACIER. The Perito Moreno glacier is one of the few glaciers on the planet that continues to advance. Day 10 ~ March 17 (B/D): Rise early for meditation, followed by breakfast. Today is another combination of spectacular scenery and beautiful hiking. We leave our hotel and set off for a 3.5-hour drive to El Chalten, known as the trekking capital of Argentina. Once we arrive in town, we’ll grab a quick lunch, then head out for a 3.6-mile hike to the CERRO TORRE LOOKOUT. This short, moderately steep trail starts in the town of El Chaltén and offers impeccable views of Cerro Torre along with the other snow-capped peaks within the Southern Andes. After returning to town, we’ll settle into our hotel and have dinner.
Day 11 ~ March 18 (B/D): Rise early for meditation, followed by breakfast. We’ll pick up lunch fixings at a local shop or cafe. Today is our longest hike of this adventure. This 6-mile lollipop loop to LAGUNA CAPRI has a somewhat steep first section culminating in a viewpoint overlooking the river valley below. From here, the trail winds through an occasionally forested valley until reaching the shores of Laguna Capri. Beyond the lake are beautiful views of Cerro Fitz Roy. Once we arrive in Puerto Natales, we’ll check into the hotel we stayed at before and have dinner together.
Day 13 ~ March 20 (B/D): Rise early for meditation, followed by breakfast. Today we’ll travel via a different method of transport on a DAY CRUISE ON ULTIMA ESPERANZA SOUND. We can expect to spot sea lions, Andean condors, elephant seals, and cormorant colonies right from the boat. The ship cruises by Balmaceda Mountain, offering excellent views of the BALMACEDA GLACIER. We may have a chance to see the icebergs calving from the glacier. Continuing, we will stop near the SERRANO GLACIER, where we will enjoy a short hike around the lagoon, and we will have lunch at a local estancia before returning to Puerto Natales. At the end of the day, we’ll return to our hotel in Puerto Natales and have dinner.
Day 14 ~ March 21 (B/D): Rise early for meditation, followed by breakfast. This morning we’ll take a 3.5-hour drive to PALI AIKE NATIONAL PARK. Low-lying volcanic cones, caves, various craters, basalt walls, and lava scoria tell the story of recent volcanic eruptions. We’ll explore the park on foot via various trails, including Morada del Diablo and Cueva Pali Aike. After our exploration, we’ll drive 2.5 hours to Punta Arenas, where we’ll check into our hotel then head out for a farewell dinner.

Tour Facilitator Amy Pattee Colvin:
In the fall of 2015, I attended a meditation retreat to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, led by my long-time meditation teachers. A local shaman joined us one of our days in Machu Picchu. During the blessing ceremony, he handed me a seed to plant after the ceremony finished. He said to look for the plant when I brought my own group on a retreat to Peru.
For many months that seed of an idea quietly germinated and eventually sprouted into the development of meditation and qigong retreats worldwide.
Traveling with me, you’ll practice meditation and qigong daily, steep yourself in beautiful landscapes, step out of your daily routine, and immerse yourself in positive ways of thinking and living. I’m excited to share these concepts with you while we actively explore stunning landscapes and cultures.
These retreats create an opportunity for you to deeply focus on inner work, connecting to the divine within and harmonizing with the energy of the natural world.
I’ll share with you all I’ve learned in nearly 30 years of Taoist meditation, as well as the wisdom garnered from becoming a certified facilitator of Stanford University’s Compassion Cultivation Training. I’ve led small group spiritual tours in Peru, Ireland, Tanzania, and Scotland.
Tour Leader Manuel Velazco:
Manuel Velazco, born in Cusco, Peru, entered the tourism industry at the age of 15. He has served as a professional tour guide for 20 years, guiding around Peru and South America. He is one of Peru’s most experienced and respected leaders.
I met Manuel in the fall of 2015 when my mother and I traveled on an Overseas Adventure Travel trip to Southern Peru and Bolivia. He has been the tour leader on my Peruvian tours. When I put this Patagonia spiritual tour itinerary together, I contacted him to see if he was interested in working with me. Through the years, he has provided excellent knowledge, leadership, humor, and love of South American people and cultures.

“What an amazing and well-organized trip! Amy brought together an awesome local guide, nice hotels, and great food. I fell in love with Peru. We visited many Incan sites, did two challenging and scenic hikes, and we got to experience local culture. Every day we did some form of qigong, or meditation, and had conversations about compassion. Great way to learn skills while being away from everyday routine.” Marty P
